Believe You Have and You Shall Receive:  The Duality of Answered Prayers “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” The Bible , Mark 11:24 NKJV I was in a session early this year where the speaker spoke on this verse, it is easy to read this verse, shout glory, and move on. But if we pause and sit with it, something remarkable begins to surface. Jesus does not repeat Himself for emphasis. He reveals a process. He says believe that you receive and then He says you will have. This is not redundancy. It is a window into how answers to prayer actually arrive. Every answered prayer operates in two realms. First the answer is received, then the answer is had. The receiving happens in the spiritual realm, while the having unfolds in the physical realm. The answer is not created twice. There is a version of the world where everything behaves. Inputs equal outputs. Nothing appears from nowhere. Nothing leaves without explanation. It is a clean world. Predictable. Safe. A world where life rarely bleeds, because nothing is ever pushed far enough to break. And then there is a hillside. People seated on dry ground. Hunger stretching longer than patience. No preparation. No excess. Just five loaves of bread and two fish placed plainly in view, small enough to be counted, insufficient enough to be embarrassing. Five. Two. Thousands waiting. If the world truly works the way we say it does, this is where the story should end. Instead, the bread is broken, the fish are shared, and the distribution does not stop. As we continue to engage the extraordinary life, it becomes necessary to look honestly at the world we have been trained to live in. The ordinary world is governed by laws and principles that help us make sense of what we see. They bring order and predictability. ...

Yesterday was disruptive in the best possible way. Not chaotic, not loud, just the kind of disruption that quietly rearranges you from the inside. In the middle of it all, one line kept echoing in my spirit, a line from the ruckus himself: Ordinary lives don’t bleed and that’s the point. A simple change in calendar nomenclature and suddenly hope feels lighter, courage feels closer, and possibility feels more accessible. We call it a reset. A chance to recalibrate, realign goals and plans, and frame the reality we desire for the next three hundred and sixty five days. Goals are written. Visions are cast. Intentions are declared.
